Connect to the MCP server
To connect an AI assistant to Sonta, add Sonta's MCP server to the assistant as a connector and sign in to Sonta when the assistant asks. From then on the assistant acts as you, with your role's permissions, in the business you have selected.

Requirements
- A Sonta account in the business, with a role that carries the permissions the work needs.
- An AI assistant that supports MCP connectors, such as Claude.

After connecting
- Ask the assistant which business is selected before it changes anything. The most common cause of a collection seeming to be missing is the right collection in a different business.

Disconnecting
- Remove the Sonta connector in your assistant's settings to end the connection from that side.
- On the Sonta side, access follows the person: change the role and the assistant's reach changes; remove the account and the connection stops working.
Notes and limitations
- Switching the selected business from the assistant changes it for your account, including your next session.
- Give an assistant that works unattended its own account with a role scoped to the job, rather than an administrator's.
- Your assistant may ask you to approve actions that change data before it runs them. That is a setting of the assistant, not of Sonta.
