Filters and date ranges in reports
A report is narrowed in two ways: filters decide which entries count, and the time window decides which period they come from. Pick a preset window such as the last 30 days or this quarter, or a custom range, and choose which date it is measured on: created date by default, updated date, or any date field.

Requirements
A role that can build reports. See Build a report for the rest of the setup.
Set the time window
- Choose the date the window is measured on. Created date is the default. A staffing firm counting placements by start date picks its Start Date field instead, so a placement agreed in March but starting in May counts in May.
- Choose the window.
- Last 7, 30, or 90 days
- This month, this quarter, or this year
- All time
- A custom range with a start and end date
- Compare, if useful. Turn on comparison with the previous window of the same length: this quarter against last quarter, the last 30 days against the 30 before.
Add filters
Filters work the same way as in a view: each one tests a field, with the operators that fit its type. See Filter a view.
- Text: includes, equals, or is empty.
- Numbers and prices: equals, greater or less than, between, or is empty.
- Options: any of, or all of, the chosen values.
- Dates: on, before, after, or between.
- References and people: pointing at particular entries or users.
All filters apply together: an entry has to pass every one to be counted.
Notes and limitations
- Comparison limits. Comparing with the previous window is not available for all time, and cannot be combined with a segment, the second grouping of a report.
- Live numbers. The window is calculated when the report runs. "Last 30 days" always means the 30 days before today, and the figures come from the entries as they are now.
- Relative dates in filters. A date filter such as "this week" is turned into fixed dates when it is saved. For a window that moves with time, use the report's time window instead of a date filter.
- Filterable fields. Only fields marked searchable can be filtered on.
