Send an email

To send an email, pick one of the business's connected mailboxes, add the recipients and a subject, write the body, and link the email to the entries it concerns so it shows on their timeline. To answer an email you received, reply, reply to all, or forward it from the inbox instead.

Requirements

• A role with permission to send email.
• At least one mailbox connected to the business; see Connect a mailbox.

Send a new email

1. Choose the mailbox to send from. The email goes out from that address.
2. Add recipients. At least one address in To; Cc and Bcc as needed.
3. Write a subject and a body. A subject is required.
4. Link it to entries. Link the email to the contact, company, or deal it is about. A property manager writing to a tenant about a lease renewal links the email to both the tenant and the lease, and it appears on each of their timelines.
5. Send.

Answer an email you received

From the inbox, open the message and choose how to answer:

• Reply goes to the sender only.
• Reply all goes to the sender and everyone else on the message.
• Forward sends the message on to someone new.

An answer stays in the same conversation, so the thread keeps its history. Read the whole message before you answer; the inbox shows the full body. Email and the inbox explains how conversations are organized.

Notes and limitations

• Sending cannot be undone. Once an email leaves the mailbox, it is with the recipient.
• An agent can send email on your behalf through the same actions. Have it show you the draft before it sends.
• Emails an automation sends are set up differently, with a template and daily sending caps; see Create an email template.
• If a message was filed in the wrong conversation, it can be moved to the right one or dismissed. That takes its own permission.
