FAQ

Booking shows zero slots

Zero slots almost always means the booking setup is incomplete or the days you looked at are closed: the department has no working hours, an exception closes those days, the collection has no active booking profile, or every slot is already full. Each day in the availability check says why it is closed.

Requirements

Access to the collection. To fix the setup: a role that can edit locations, departments, and the collection.

1. The department has no working hours

Slots are cut from the department's working hours. A department with no open day has nothing to cut, so every day shows closed. Fix: set the hours day by day; see Set up locations, departments, and working hours.

2. The booking points at a different department

The collection's booking profile names one location and one department. If the hours are set on another department, this collection does not see them. A clinic that set hours on Front Desk but pointed its Appointments collection at Consultations gets zero slots. Fix: set hours on the department the profile uses, or point the profile at the right one.

3. An exception closes those days

A day off or a holiday added as an exception closes the department on those dates. Fix: check the department's exceptions for the dates you looked at; see Add exceptions and days off.

4. Booking is not fully switched on

The collection needs a date and time field marked as the booking start, booking turned on, and an active profile. Without all three, nothing can be booked. Fix: work through Make a collection bookable; its checklist shows what is missing.

5. Every slot is taken

If the days are open but no slot is free, the slots are full. Each slot shows its limit and how many places remain. Fix: raise the capacity if you can take more at once; see Slot length and capacity.

Still zero?

  • The range. Availability is checked for up to 92 days at a time; make sure the dates you looked at are the ones you meant.
  • Repeating exceptions. Only one-off and yearly exceptions are applied. A weekly closure set as an exception has no effect; a weekly change belongs in the regular hours.

For the whole setup, see Setting up booking end to end; for taking a booking once slots appear, Create a booking.
