Find and import prospects from Apollo

With Apollo connected to a collection, you search for people from inside Sonta, preview what an import would cost, and import the ones you pick as entries. People already saved in your Apollo account import for free; people from Apollo's wider database cost credits to reveal, and the preview shows how many before anything is spent.

Requirements

• An Apollo connection set up for the collection you import into, such as Contacts or Leads.
• A role that can create entries in that collection, to import.
• A role that can edit that collection, to spend credits on revealing contact data.

Two places to search

• Your saved contacts: people your team already saved in its own Apollo account. Their email is already paid for, so importing them spends nothing. You can narrow by your own Apollo lists and contact stages.
• New people: Apollo's wider database. Results come back as previews with contact details hidden, and revealing those details costs credits.

Steps

1. Choose where to search. Saved contacts or new people.
2. Filter. Search by person, organization, technology, and job posting details, such as seniority or company size. Less common filters sit under advanced options.
3. Select people. Up to 100 per import.
4. Choose what to buy for this run. Emails for people who still lack them; personal addresses as well as work ones; mobile numbers. The collection's defaults are pre-selected, and you can change them for this run.
5. Preview. Before anything is bought, the preview shows how many people will become entries, how many will be skipped, how many are already paid for, exactly how many people will be bought, and an upper estimate of credits.
6. Import. The selected people become entries. After the run, the exact number of credits used is reported.

Reading the preview

• Skipped people were already imported through this Apollo connection, including into a different collection, or appear twice in your selection.
• Would fail people have no usable contact data, and this run is not buying any for them.
• Credits are a ceiling, not a quote. Apollo charges only when it finds data, and older Apollo plans can be billed differently. Sonta does not show a money price; the preview links to Apollo's own pricing.

Notes and limitations

• Mobile numbers are the expensive option. They arrive from Apollo a few minutes after the import, not with it. Buying a mobile also buys the email lookup, because Apollo reveals both in one call.
• A saved contact's phone comes in for free whenever Apollo already has it, whatever you chose for buying mobiles. That setting controls spending, not whether a phone reaches the entry.
• Personal addresses are a privacy choice. The work email is returned, and charged, either way.
• Each import has a cap on how many people it may pay for; above it, the import is refused. The preview shows the cap and the count it will be compared with.
• An agent can run the same search and import. Buying data still needs a role that can edit the collection.
