How-to
Configure a record layout
A record layout arranges what an entry's page shows, in three areas: a left column, a main area, and a right column. Place the blocks where people look first, name the layout, and save it as shared with everyone who works in the collection or as personal to you.

Requirements
A role that can edit the collection. Layouts use the same permission as saved views; there is no separate one.
Steps
- Open an entry in the collection and start editing its layout. A record layout (elsewhere: record page) belongs to the collection, so every entry in it can use the same arrangement.
- Place the blocks. Put what people act on in the main area, and supporting detail to the sides. A recruiter's candidate page might keep current role, availability, and stage in the main area, contact details and documents in the left column, and linked placements and recent activity in the right.
- Name the layout. Name it for who uses it: Recruiter view, Account manager view.
- Choose shared or personal. A shared layout is available to everyone with access to the collection; a personal one only to you.
- Save.
Notes and limitations
- Only the creator edits. Only the person who created a layout can change or delete it. To adjust a colleague's shared layout, ask them, or save your own version.
- Deleting is permanent. A deleted layout is removed, not archived. The entries themselves are not affected.
- A layout never changes data. It changes only what the page shows, the same way a view changes only what a list shows.
- Several layouts per collection. A collection can have several saved layouts, so different roles can each see the entry their way.
